Pyrenean Mountain Dog
The Pyrenean Mountain Dog or Great Pyrenees Probably originated in Asia before finding its way With immigrants to Europe. Its closest relatives are the Kuvasz and the Newfoundland, to which it may have contributed. The breed has been used for centuries to guard flocks in the Pyrenean mountains bordering France and Spain, and throughout France. The Pyrenean can be kept in or outdoors, but must be well trained. It is a powerful dog, but is generally good natured, get on with other pets, and is a faithful protector. If you have sufficient space, food, and time for regular exercise and brushing, the Pyrenean will make a good companion and/or show dog.
