From 1964 in Britain, and from 1979 in the United
States, the prick-eared Norwich Terrier has been
classified separately from the otherwise identical
drop-eared Norfolk Terrier. The Norwich Terrier
is named after the city of Norwich, which lies in the
county of Norfolk in the East Anglian area of eastern
England. The Norwich appears to have originated in
East Anglia, and probably includes Cairn, Border, and
Irish Terrier blood.
This hardy and adaptable terrier is usually good
with children. It enjoys regular exercise and needs
only a daily brushing for its role as housepet and some
trimming in preparation for show. |
