Border Collie

Border Collie
The Border Collie is a descendant of working collies kept in the counties along the border between England and Scotland. It has participated in sheepdog trials since 1873, and has been exported as a working sheepdog all over the world. Bred for stamina and brains, the Border has the natural instinct to herd, and will crouch and circle from puppyhood and learn to work from more experienced dogs. This collie is an unsurpassed contender in agility and obedience work. Within the past 15 years, the Border Collie has been Increasingly chosen as a domestic pet, despite being unsuited to an existence that does not offer sufficient outlet for its energy and intelligence. This loyal working dog requires considerable exercise but only a regular groom with a dandy brush and comb. It must be the ideal choice for anyone with their heart set on winning obedience competitions.
